Around 5 1/2 seems to be my sweet spot where I almost always wake up feeling extremely alert, motivated, and optimistic for the day ahead. This leads me to believe that while 7-9 hours may be a healthy range for the population as a whole, it's important to do some self-experimentation and journaling to get an idea of how much sleep you personally need to feel your best.

Creating an optimal sleep environment has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of my rest. Implementing strategies such as minimizing exposure to electronic devices before bedtime, maintaining a cool and dark sleeping environment, and establishing a regular sleep schedule have contributed to improved sleep quality, potentially impacting testosterone levels positively.

Consider your life. How easy is it to be entertained when you'd like to be? How easy is it to get food the moment you're hungry? How easy is it to fulfill general sexual urges? How often are you physically challenged in your day-to-day life? Chances are, if you're like most people, you rarely encounter a scenario that can't easily be solved with an app on your phone. This short timespan between discomfort and comfort is what causes one to face a decrease in testosterone in my opinion. 

The Influence of Monogamy on Testosterone Levels

The concept of monogamy, while valued for its emotional and relational significance, can inadvertently contribute to a decrease in testosterone levels. By committing to a single partner and eliminating the need for competitive behaviors, men may experience a biological shift that leads to a decline in testosterone production. This shift is rooted in the evolutionary drive for mating competition and reproductive success, where the absence of competition signals a reduced need for elevated testosterone levels.

Historically, male testosterone levels were linked to competition for status, resources, and reproductive success. However, in a monogamous relationship where the need for mating competition is eliminated, I personally belive that the body may naturally decrease testosterone production, perceiving a reduced necessity for heightened competitiveness and higher testosterone by extension.

I want to make it clear that these are my viewpoints based on personal experience and research I've personally undergone. If you believe your testosterone is decreasing, I recommend first getting blood work performed at a laboratory near you. Depending on your testosterone level, I'd suggest trying the ideas I listed above in this article before you attempt to use any extreme form of supplementation like TRT.
